If you are not mechanically inclined, take along somebody who is so that they can give it the once over. A quick look at the engine and a quick test drive are not going to answer all the questions though. A mechanic or a knowledgeable person will be able to tell you whether the car is in a decent condition or not. Also, the people you take along with you may be able to hear some sounds on the test drive that may not be healthy ones, sounds that you may not notice.
Ensure that your test drive is not a short, quick one. It is essential that you spend as much time in the car as you can before you decide to buy. This is because short test drives will not let you appreciate the comfort, etc. Also, youll not be able to determine how the car handles on longer drives.
