Nearly everyone here in the UK must have been to at least one car boot sale but why on earth do people go to these things on a regular occassion? Is it because many people cannot resist a bargain hunt or is it because you get dragged around it on a Sunday morning by your Nan?
Are these car boot sales all dying out or are there still many people who go to them every week? The honest answer here is that it is up to you. There are actually some decent reasons to be going to one of these sales.
Reason 1
The thing is there are sometimes decent bargains to be found here. The reason is that most people have no idea on how their things are worth and some of these are actually worth a bit of money which is why you should always haggle people for the prices. You can quite often pick up really cheap DVD’s and Video Games for yourself and there are programs on television aimed at looking for cheap antiques in a car boot to sell at auctions for a large profit.
Reason 2
Be nice to your granny and allow her to take you around the weirdo’s that sell their things from the back of their car. Carry the junk around for her and there might well be 50p in it for you.
The Bad Things
Reason 1
It does all sound like it is a con doesnt it, scruffy looking people selling you second hand stuff from the back of a car? It sounds like something the law should be getting involved in.
Reason 2
In a lot of cases you cannot tell if the item works until you get it home. The problem is that when you are getting some like a DVD you cannot test to see if it is working until you arrive back home which means you cannoy return it.
So if you are thinking about being one of these sellers it could be worth looking into Audi leasing or leasing vans to make sure you have the room for all the junk. Car leasing is also something else you could look into.
